Conference structure

The conference includes invited general and topical lectures, contributed papers presented in poster sessions, hot topic presentations and two workshops. A short number of outstanding contributed papers covering relevant issues will be selected by the International Scientific Committee (ISC) and their authors will be asked to give a short (15 min) oral presentation in the hot topic sessions. Contributors wishing to evidence their own paper for hot topic selection are asked to indicate it in the abstract submission form.

Contributed papers will be published in Europhysics Conference Abstracts (ECA) book to be distributed to participants at the beginning of the conference. All contributed papers will be refereed by the ISC and may be rejected on scientific grounds.

No publication will occur if the official registration, including fee, for one of the authors has not been received by May 1st, 2008.


Poster Size: The maximum dimensions are: length 100 cm x height 180 cm


Short description of the abstract submission process


Contributed papers should be submitted electronically via conference website as extended abstracts (A4 format) of at least one page and maximum two pages. The text should be formatted according to the template file provided. Essentially the abstract should start with the title followed by the name of the authors and their institutions. The presenting author’s name should be underlined and that of the contacting author should exhibit a star with its electronic mail provided as shown in the template form. It may include line drawings and/or diagrams but not photographs. The printed page format is A4 no-colour.

The invited speakers (general and topical) are asked to submit a long (maximum four pages) abstract of their lectures to be published in the ECA book. The full paper will be peer reviewed for publication in a special issue of the journal Plasma Sources Science & Technology (PSST).

- Contributed papers should be received before March 1st, 2008

- The submission of an abstract implies the transmission of its copyright to EPS.
